On Saturday, Kevin and I drove up to Julian to explore the tiny town famous for it's incredible apple pie. After a slice, of course, we poked around in all of the adorable gift shops and went a little sugar-crazy in the Julian Candy Basket. I also couldn't resist buying a few of the beautifully scented handcrafted soaps from the sweet woman behind the counter at the Julian Soap Company. It was a relaxing afternoon, enjoying the crisp winter air and passing a bottle of root beer back and forth while meandering lazily down the charmingly uneven sidewalks of the main drag. We finished off the day with chicken pot pie, grilled cheese, and fried pickles at the Rongbranch Restaurant and went home with full bellies and a fresh apple crumble pie for my parents.
