[DIY] Tuxedo Jeans

Tuxedo pants have been a huge part of the menswear-for-women trend for the past couple of seasons. Although my style is more feminine, I have always loved the sleek look of tuxedo pants, even back when they were just for men.
These days, tuxedo pants are a trend both genders are reaching for, and its super easy to turn any pair of simple pants up a notch.
You will need:
Pants to change up (I used a pair of black jeans)
1 1/2" to 2"wide black satin ribbon
Iron on adhesive tape (like Stitch Witchery or something similar)
Fold your pants flat so that the side seam is facing up. Lay out your iron-on tape on the hem. (I had to double mine up because my ribbon was wider than the tape.)
Fold the top of your ribbon under to keep it from fraying, and iron your ribbon down the length of your pants, following the directions for your iron-on tape.
When you get to the hem of your pants, fold your ribbon over and use another small piece of the iron-on tape to hold it down to the inside of your hem.
Repeat on the other side of your pants, and now you have a pair of tux jeans that can dress up any casual outfit, or tone down the romanticism of an overly feminine outfit.
What do you think about the menswear-for-women trend? Would you rock a pair of tux pants? Let me know in the comments!
